M is going through what feels like the classic babyism. He's just refusing to nap and stay napping lol. It's like he has his own little baby FOMO that he can't get over. Hopefully this will pass sooner than later but I know it's killing N during the day. Today in particular she's looking beat, which sucks because I've actually been pretty busy.

Recently I applied for a few new jobs, one of them being at a rather large corporation. My hopes aren't super high but we shall see! Would be pretty cool but I'm sure it'll be a tough interview process.

Well I migrated this server over to at least hosting on a Go http server. Pretty cool if I do say so myself. I also added in a small database component so I can track how many hits I get at the main page, blog.hussmaster.com. More a curiosity thing for me.

I've applied for a few jobs recently. Mostly just to see. They're at pretty high profile companies so I'd be shocked but it would be pretty cool to get a job like that. Also nerve racking. Leaving the comfort of my current job where I feel secure, especially now that M is born, there is just so much more to lose you know. I know we would never end up homeless but still seems like a leap of faith to work for a rather large company. We shall see!

N realllllly messed her back up over the weekend unfortunately. She's been dealing with this back shit for a few years now and I think the combination of a weak core from childbirth, coupled with carrying M on her front for a few hours while walking around just did it in. I certainly hope it gets better quickly.

Over the weekend we hitup the farmers market, picked up some nice bread. One of these days we will actually plan ahead and get a bunch of groceries from the farmer's market. Regardless it was great to get M out and about and he's been doing great! Also hit up a winery the same day with some friends. Us bringing him out and about is going to pay off in spades I think as he gets older.

Also for anyone actually reading this, we watched and got caught up on the show Four Seasons. God damn what a good show. Funny, witty, emotional. Banger.

M is also starting to sleep quite a bit better through the night, thank god. It was fun doing horrible sleep schedules for the first month but now I feel it's starting to catch up to me lmao. Regardless, still love the boy.

Gyat damn. I picked up a cold and got sick as hell. Been awhile since I've been sick and usually when I do get sick it always feels like I get just fuckin' smacked. Thankfully N has allowed me to put myself through some Nyquil coma's in order to try and speed run my recovery. My niece's 5th bday party is tomorrow and thankfully I think I'll be feeling good enough to at least fake that I'm not ill with enough drugs slammed into me.

M had his 2 month checkup and is growing perfectly in all aspects!! I'm loving him more and more by the day it's really an unbelievable feeling that I don't think I could ever describe but if you're a good parent then you just know what I mean. We're going up to my wife's family cabin this coming weekend and I'm excited but also nervous. My FIL has these two big ass dogs and I'm just squeamish. I'm not the biggest fan of large animals to begin with but I really don't need a large animal all up in my 2 month olds face.

We picked up a 2006 BMW 330i with a manual transmission. Haha. This was funny enough one of the exact models I was looking for as it's touted as having an extremely reliable engine and can last for a long time. Plus the inline 6 feels incredible. It's so smooth! It's got all the requirements for M as well so I can't wait to get the inside cleaned up so I can take the lil dude for a fun summer drive.

Consistency. Had a tough talk with the wife today as it kinda finally hit me that I'm just not a very consistent person. I tend to put a lot of effort into things but always just seem to fall off. Looking back I absolutely do this and it's something I really need to work on. I'll probably start therapy again and hopefully dig into this problem. Just sucks to be the one dropping the ball.

Well sadly the band has hit a snag. Our lead guitarist essentially threw in the towel and decided to quit, of course right after we auditioned a new bass player that we all liked. He's seemed pretty deeply depressed for some time now and has been talking about wanting to stop music altogether. Well. Turns out the day after he quit he just went and started a new band with the person he apparently wanted to play bass with. So myself, drummer and singer had a pow wow and decided to keep the band going. Fine right? Wrong. After some back and forth the lead guitarist says 'oh btw, you can't use any of the songs nor the band name. They're all mine. Good luck on your new ventures'.

Wut

Blud quit the band not us. While the main structure of the songs were present, by the time we got to the studio and did the recordings myself and the drummer definitely either added or reworked some parts to fit into the song. Thus changing from the original versions as they were when we originally joined a year ago. So I shot back a text I sat on for about a day, wanted to make sure I had all my thoughts, about how we weren't under the impression of being hired guns, if we were that certainly changes the finances of the recording. I mean I personally wouldn't have dropped $1100 on a recording if I was getting 0 credit for these songs. But rather then request the money back for the recording we'd really like the in ear system because we all enjoyed using it aside from himself who constantly complained about it and didn't like that people would talk shit about us using in ears. Idgaf, it makes us better as a band lol.

As I should've expected but did not expect the severity of, that went over horribly. He said we didn't write shit, that I was a terrible guitarist and only brought me on because I didn't have kids and would play whatever he told me to play. Also said it's not his fault I'm untalented and haven't wrote a new song in 2 years. Then said he should be charging us the practice space(his house), equipment rental, delivery to shows, gas, and the cost to keep the album up on streaming services. Said the recording was expensive because the drummer and I had coffee with the engineer before the studio and said we sound close to a shitty punk band called Scowl, to which he said a year ago that the band sounded like as a way to explain the sound of the band before we joined. Said he'd be more than happy to remove the album from streaming services since they're actually a previous bands songs.

Completely unacceptable behavior and also cruel. But also concerning it's coming from a 46 year old man. I get that he was just lashing out but I'd be lying if it didn't suck to read. At this point we all just want to move on and start a fresh band. Which I am excited about! I think it'll be really fun, probably start out doing covers and then start to work in some originals as we come up with them.

N has been having a pretty hard last couple of days. M has been in a bit of growth spurt but he's also refusing to nap unless he's held. Which really traps her and feels super limiting. She's also having a hard time wrapping her head around her new body and the feeling of starting from scratch workout wise. It's really hard to imagine that honestly. That would just plaing fucking suck. Plus then you feel conflicted because you love your boy but you pretty much sacrificed your body to bring him to the world. I'm trying my best to assure her that she's doing an incredible job as a mother and that she'll get her body back as well as learn it but I'm sure right now in the moment it's really hard.
